Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/14/2006

Number: 1

I sighted Monarchs at our ranch on Saturday Oct. 14 and Sunday Oct. 15.
The ranch is at N29deg 48.979 min 58.74s, W100degrees 29.439min 26.34s In the evening several of the large live oak trees along the road were full of Monarchs. Other trees off the road may have also had butterflies.
During the
day there were 5 to 10 in sight at all times as we drove - just fluttering around.
This occurred over the entire ranch (1184 acres). There didn't seem to be any general directional movement.
