On Oct. 14, son Tim reported that here were 100 - 200 monarchs
nectaring in his goldenrain-tree (Koelreuteria paniculata). There are
a number of the trees in his neighborhood in Corpus. A quick walk
through the neighborhood revealed monarchs in all the goldenrain-trees.
He saw the monarchs about noon, just after heavy morning rains.
