Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/09/2006

Number: 1

Last week we (Ms. Ramirez-Pace's class) found a cocoon that had fallen from a tree in the back of our school. (Eleanor Tinsley Elementary, HoustonISD).
We (third grade bilingual) took it to a fifth grade teacher (Miss Jeffery) who shares our love of science and she proceeded to put it in an aquarium. To our delight, we have a monarch butterfly which was born today. We found the site that tells the difference between male and female. Needless to say we are all very excited and are awaiting it to "fly its wings" so that we can release it.
