This was the last day of hummingbirds in our yard. It has been a great August for the homeward migration start for the Hummers in our urban garden from August 8 thru August 29/06. They visit us every summer during August. I have been hopeing for years that they would come in the spring since they seem to enjoy the environment in August but, unfortunately it has not happened yet. Oh one year in April I noted an Annas in the lialac bush - I had left an empty feeder there over the winter - I rushed to make up some sugar water for it and put it back. The Annas went to the feeder two or three times drank some nectar and that was it did not see it again.
