Signs of Fall

Date: 10/21/2006

Number: 1

Echoes of spring persist around here! Robins scold and red winged blackbirds singing their rich gurgles of liquid notes ride the swaying branches of the willow. The merry bands of rob-ins continue to strip the tiny golden apples from the Junque Crabapple. The day is a gray tingled gloomy one which seems to make the maples blaze more brightly. The willow is just beginning to show gold leaves in a few spots. The blackbirds squabble and banter as they did in the early Spring, except for the colored leaves; Nature seems to be teasing us with an instant replay!
