Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/20/2006

Number: 1

It was about 40 degrees and not raining when our entire elementry school, eighteen students in grades K-5, at the Gustavus School planted 100 tulip bulbs. This is our second year participating in this project. We decided to try again this year as last year a pair of moose ate most of our tulips about a week before they would have bloomed. This year students weighed all the bulbs and made predictions about plant height and flower size based on bulb weight. Our garden plot has three sections for lightest, medium, and the heaviest weighing bulbs.
