Greetings from Madoc Maple Farm! A Journey North tulip garden was planted on Oct.29. The weather was cool (+4) with some drizzle. The soil is warmer than the air today. I have planted red emperors and some white and yellow emperors too as an experiment to see which ones will bloom first. A naughty chipmunk dug up one of the yellow bulbs the next morning- so - we have covered the garden area with an old piece of fencing for the next couple of weeks until the chippies are sleeping... and I have given the dogs instructions that they are to guard the garden! cheers to everyone at JNorth from Sam Conroy
