Extreme flocks of starlings, estimated to be several hundred have been visiting back yards in this area-this is more normal for mid autumn. I had the Alfred Hitchcock flock of grackles in the yard yesterday, like a plague of locusts they cleaned out all the feeders in no time flat. Little dandelion-like weeds are blooming. All around there are signs of springs journey north, not winters journey south!!! Checked out an Arctic circle website--the really cold air is still within the circle-temps outside circle are still moderate for this time of year.Interesting!
