1/6/07 11:30 am One adult and one immature Bald Eagles along Jacks Valley Rd., approx. 6 miles north of Genoa, NV. The area is still relatively rural (desert on the east flank of the Sierra Nevada Mtns., cattle ranches, some old and new subdivisions). A lone old farmhouse sits near the road. The immature was in a large willow tree eating a bird, the adult was flying away from another tree, chased by a Red-tail Hawk. The adult landed in a tree near where the immature was eating. A magpie flew onto the branch where the immature stood, hopped over and grabbed a bite. The immature did not react to the magpie. When finished, the immature flew to the tree where the adult stood.
