This may not have made the news elsewhere, but a lost manatee was rescued in the warm outflow water of the Citgo refinery near Corpus Christi on the Texas midcoast. It is reported to be first of the endangered animals to be rescued by wildlife officials along the Texas coast. It was swimming and eating lettuce at the Texas State Aquarium's Sea Lab in Corpus the next day. They hope to rehabilitate and eventually return the manatee to Florida.
