Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 01/01/2007

Number: 1

Early afternoon this past Christmas Eve I was out side near where our feeder had hung. I heard the familuar buzz and I looked and there was a hummingbird. Amazing because I live in Minnesota about 40 miles NW of the Twin Cities. My Hummingbird went from my feeder sight to me then flew about 4 feet in front of me and hovered for a few seconds and then flew away. I know our winter has been quite unusual. Warm and no record snowfall. I was shocked that family thought I was nuts and that there is no way I saw a Hummingbird. I know what I saw and I am so greatful for a once in a lifetime experience. Could you help me out with some less known facts and the possibility of this miracle to occur? I want to assure my family I am sane and it is unfortunate they are not as excited as me. It was so wonderful to see a Hummingbird on this special day. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, Tina
