Teaching staff member Jackie Roquemore reports the first emergence of tulip leaves in the Virginia Living Museum Children's Learning Garden on this date. At least, this was the first date the leaves were noticed. Three leaves are from 1 to 2 inches {2.5 to 5 cm) tall above the soil line.
