Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/05/2006

Number: 1

monarch butterfly migration has been in full swing at hampton beach, nh especially at hampton harbor, the hampton state park and by the spring marsh near my cottage one street from the main beach. at the park there are trees and goldenrod on the dunes. By the spring marsh there are a row of wild light blue asters by the salt marsh river that astounded me this year and some goldenrod, too. Monarchs also travel to the isle of shoals, a very very small collection of islands about 12 miles off the coast of nh ( known for the poet celia thaxter).
