This is the first robin I had seen at my house. It was just out in the yard with a few other birds. This whole month of Jan has been a very cold and dry one. But we have had a few snow storms that have left a few inches of snow on the ground for an unusual amount of time. Snow usually doesn't last long around here, I think we are about 700 ft above sea level here at my house.
Everyday I see more and more robins, but not a lot at any one time. This morning (January 31)there were a few out in the yard grabbing pieces of bread and crackers etc that I threw out along with the bird seed and peanut butter that I put out for the other birds.. It was about 20 degrees this morning and never got above 40 all day. So not much like spring weather!!
