Two adult bald eagles (white head and tail),Deep yellow beaks were probably mating in a tree on DiamondHead Avenue across from Newport Elementary School. The birds were locked together in the tree approximately 20' from the ground for over an hour. They were observed by hundreds of persons including two Harris County sheriffs or constables and a Texas Game warden. The incident was reported to Austin, Texas headquarters, police and TV news stations. Birds were not injured and flew off at ~3:30PM
