Number: 1

A bald eagle sighting in the river bottom that crosses through our city about 7:45 am. on our way into work. The bird was flying about 75 feet above us in a southerly direction. The morning was coolish (around 12 degrees below freezing) and cloudy..... a perfect day for a ground hog to sniff out and declare winter's over soon, we hope!
But we don't have gound hogs here; the closest thing would be a Richardson's Ground Squirrel, also known as a gopher. It did sonw later through the day; causing losts of collisions, and actually shutting down some highways.
