For the first time in the 2plus years that I have been observing the robins, I saw all of them, (there were hundreds of them in our neighborhood)leave in several waves moving north/northwest. It took about 5-10 minutes for all of the smaller groups to catch up to the larger wave and there were stragglers after that. This was just before dusk. It was something that I have never seen before. It made me sad because I have enjoyed hearing their tune each morning when we leave for school and now I will have to wait another year.
