Thursday evening (Feb. 8), I came home to hundreds of robins on the ground in my neighborhood. Many roosted overnight in a magnolia tree in my front yard. We woke to a light sleet and snow mixture and could hear the robins occassionally making those same short noises. This evening (Feb. 10) again a great number of robins were on the lawns, this time with other birds. I can't tell you at this time what exactlly the other, smaller birds were. But, we did noticed that our opening and closing car doors caused the other birds to scatter while the robins remained undisturbed by our noises and movement.
