Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/05/2007

Number: 1

I have a huge Popcorn Tree (Triadica Sebifera) which I have watched grow from a seedling to maturity and have noticed as it grew larger and larger, many different types of birds would eat its seeds produced in the winter after the leaves have dropped off and also the squirrels, which have increased in our area. Last week, for the first time seen in my area, I noticed a large flock of Robins on this tree and two other smaller ones that have been produced by my tree in my neighbors backyard. Since Popcorn Trees produce seedlings easily, I am always pulling them up in my backyard since one is enough for me, and my neighbors two Popcorn Trees drape over into my backyard. The Robins have been eating the seeds and have stripped the tops bare, leaving only the bottom seeds, but are still here and working on eating the bottom seeds now. I never knew that Robins flocked together!
