Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/12/2007

Number: 1

Although our valley is best known as a major flyway for birds of prey, we seem to be slightly off track from the routes of huge numbers of songbirds.

I have been seeing robins clustering in tree tops, about 25 or so in a group. Weather here has been clear, sunny, and in the mid 50’s in temperature. Gentle rains have nearly eliminated all snow on the valley floor, but there is still plenty in the mountains.

The redwings have been here in larger numbers and singing away. I wonder if our tulips, due to the strange warming trend, might emerge too early and be susceptible to another freezing spell.
