Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/12/2007

Number: 1

About 9.00 a.m. while walking my dog, I saw a lone robin scratching in
the thawed area of ground around a sump pump discharge and about a
hundred yards later I saw another flying by.
Technically, I cannot be
sure that it wasn't the same bird seen twice.

However, on a later walk at about 2.30 p.m. I saw three robins
together in a tree overlooking a sump pump discharge.

I live just south of Barrie and we currently have about 24 - 30 inches
of fresh snow cover, which has covered up most of these sump pump
discharges. Since they tend to be in the ditches in front of houses,
the local snow plows are throwing a lot of packed snow over the top of
the discharges.

Does anyone know what food could be put out for Robins? I must admit I
have never seen them come near any of the traditional feeders.44° 16' 29" N - 79° 37' 05" W
