Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/13/2007

Number: 1

We noticed a pair of robins under a huge blue spruce in our front yard and had never seen them in winter before. In a few days there was only one and it looked so pathetic sitting under the tree in the freezing wind and blowing snow. We thought it strange that it preferred sitting on the ground to sitting inside the branches of the tree. I started putting breadcrumbs and currants under that tree and now he's so used to it it barely flies but a few feet away when I replentish the food. I'm not sure he's eating the currants but his behavior has changed in that he's in the trees more as opposed to under and he is singing to us. It's wonderful! Thanks for the information on what to feed him--I will start putting other fruits.
