Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/19/2007

Number: 1

I saw two flocks of robins with a total of about 30 individuals along the small stream north of the Lied Recreation Center, Iowa State University. They seemed to be foraging on the ground near and among the dried cattails and rushes along the stream. A few were perching on the low branches of several sycamore trees along the stream.

Today was the first day of above-freezing temperatures (lower 40s with mid-level clouds) after a cold period lasting about four weeks.
