Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/20/2007

Number: 1

After a snowstorm last week (Tuesday & Wednesday Feb 9&10 plus an additional 3-4" of snow Friday evening and Saturday morning) about 14" of snow, it has been warm the last few days. The high yesterday & today was in the lower 50's. I saw three or four, I was driving, but 100% sure they were robins. They were sitting in the bare grass I'm guessing just soaking up the sun, just like we have been. I do know what they sound like, but have not heard any at our home. We'll keep the sighting coming.

It will be interesting this year as we live in an area where there will soon be nearly 300 1.65mw wind turbines. I'm curious how it will effect the birds and monarchs (which we are really fond of). We had nearly 200-300 monarchs stay over last fall for a few days when the weather was bad.
