The first day it has gotten above freezing in a long time, the blackbirds and starlings showed up in force, and just kept coming, more and more, at least 100 by the afternoon--cleaned out the feeders and bird baths. In among them were a few redwings and a couple of cowbirds. In the late afternoon a chipmunk appeared in the garden, don't think there was much left to eat!!
