Had about six American Robins visiting my birdbath the afternoon of the 30th. All of them sipped the water, and two even got in and took baths. This was especially-rewarding as I'd just spent close to an hour thawing it (it was a solid block of ice) by pouring hot tap water over it repeatedly. I have learned through the years that if you put fresh water out for the birds in winter, invariably you will get robins at some point!
