While walking at 5:30PM EST, I saw a V formation of about 20 birds, thinking they were geese. They were in flight very near the Ohio River in Louisville, heading toward Indiana. As they were overhead , I realized they weren't geese, rather they were much bigger and making the familiar crane cooing noises. The formation became disjointed as the leader changed and then they were back in V form and headed North.

What a sighting!!!
