Well, here it is, over a month since I had my first "lone" sighting a single robin! Do the flocks send out scouts? Just wondering. Since Late January, the numbers have increased daily, with waves spotted in the first week of February and they seem to continue still. We have spent the last five early evening/late afternoon watching waves in our yard still ... enjoying the bird bath we have set up with fresh water. Many of them just seem to want water while those brave others just want to splash around a bit. What a wonderful time we have had these last five weeks. Each day has continued to bring more and more. IT seems we have trees in our front and back yard that have black/bluish berries that these dear travelers are enjoying. Guess our earth worms are still approaching the vertical migration!

For whatever reason, this year has been the best in watching these travelers in our area and I have been recording them now for the last fifteen years!
