Amazingly, I saw my very first Barn Swallow fly right down my net lane (but high in the air) at Tomoka State Park about 10 AM. Cannot mistake the longer tail as compared to the Tree Swallows. Maybe this is a "scout" heading up. Our extremely hot weather gives the birds no clue how the weather is up north!!! I had a volunteer with me who also observed the bird and concurred with me.
