Tulips EMERGED

Date: 03/02/2007

Number: 1

We noticed of the tulips that are emerging that some of them are red. Most of our Journey North tulips have emerged. The ones that have emerged look like little pods. Some of them are taller than others. Some of them are growing bigger and turning red.

We also planted experimental bulbs. Two boys placed several worms near their bulbs, and those are both emerging. They think it might be because the worms helped cultivate the soil. The tulips that we planted 3 inches deep are higher than our Journey North tulips that we planted 6 inches deep. We also colored some bulbs before planting them. A student who colored hers blue reported that the emergence is not blue. Some students couldn't find their bulbs. We think animals might have eaten them. Or maybe they just haven't emerged yet. We'll see soon!
