Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 03/04/2007

Number: 1

My husband Bob was the first to spot the little breath of Spring...a male rufous came around 5:30 pm and visited one of our 3 waiting feeders. (Of course with very fresh food!) I've kept track for about 20 years of their arrival dates and this is an average date. The earliest date was Feb. 26th about 9 years ago. The latest was last year on March 12th. Odd year this year though. We had a very late visitor in the middle of October!
