Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 03/05/2007

Number: 1

I have been watching the migrating robins for a month or so now, listening keenly for the first male to claim his territory around the house. All has been quite until this morning. Just as the sun was starting to rise and the dark of night lifted I could hear the robins calling to each other. I listened quietly for a few minutes, and softly at first, a male started to sing. His song grew louder with the with the relinquish of night, and my heart soared,,,,spring at last.
