Found my first inchworm today, as I was cleaning up leaf-litter and plant debris from my patio garden bed. It was inching along a stem of old ormanmental grass. It looks, then, like at least some of my Geometer Moths overwinter as first-or-second-instar larva, as it was still quite small. I photographed it and then returned it to the litter, which I then ceased cleaning up, as I didn't want to deprive it of its shelter. Good thing, too, as we got an inch of snow the next day!
