My ESOL students, their parents, other teachers and I planted a butterfly garden at our school on Friday, March 9, 2007. This was a workday for teachers, so it was really great that kids gave up a free day and their parents were able to come. Two of the students, Angelica and Jose, are from Michoacan, which made it a very special project for them. We will be adding plants over the next 2 weeks. Other classes at our school will be helping to keep the area watered as well as watching for butterfly sightings and enjoying the flowers everyday when they go to lunch.
