On March 8th, we visited our tulip garden and found about 1/2 of our tulips beginning to emerge. There are 3 fifth grade classes participating in this field experience with approximately 66 kids all planting tulips. We are located in the heart of Missouri. Our elementary school has about 450 students from k-5. There were some plants standing about 4 cm tall. The class was very excited to see their plants emerging. We were unable to get to our tulip beds since we have had so much snow and ice this year. The mud has finally dried up and we can get to our beds. We also spent time looking at other schools around the Northern Hemisphere and studied the patterns of their climates and predicted when we think your tulpis will emerge.
