Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 03/14/2007

Number: 1

The songs of the arriving male robins have been confirmed by sightings of a large flock, all looking for those just-waking-up insect larvae who are hiding in the cracks and crevices of the tree bark. There is mud in the driveway and the snow is melting very quickly today. We are expecting rain later on today. Yesterday the sun shone in the afternoon and the sap ran later in the day as well. The clouds were moving from the north late yesterday afternoon just before sunset. This first wave of robins seems to have really awakened the forest to the arrival of spring. You can see the snow slumping and there are little rivers of meltwater flowing down the gravel road... I think it's here!!!!
