Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/10/2007

Number: 1

On March 10, one large female monarch laid at least 33 eggs on seven Asclepias curassavica (Mexican milkweed) plants. On March 11, one large monarch flew by me, disappearing into the woods on
east side of our lot, where there are Mexican Buckeyes barely beginning to bloom. These monarchs were sighted at Shoal Creek in Austin, about 4.5 - 5 miles north of the Colorado River.
