Saw a lone eagle perched on a snag on an island in the Potomac River just above Great Falls. Saw one this exact same spot last autumn. They nest in the area, so this may be part of one of the nesting pairs just returned (or may have never left...can't be sure). Wonderful to see, at any rate!
