Just this morning about 10:30am, I heard the flight call of several cranes...thinking that the Sandhills had returned, I glanced up!

Much to my surprise! WHOOPING Cranes! Just beautiful and white, black tipped wings, four flying lower over our farm, three more up in a higher air pattern, plus ONE up really high compared to the others...totally made my day!

(Plus a neighbor thought she'd seen one just after dusk last night, but thought she was mistaken! Too dark to see colors, but the outline of a crane like bird.)

I'd love to know if these birds had on any tracking system, but maybe they were just wild? Either way, I'll keep my ears open for more of them! WOW!
