Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/18/2007

Number: 1

Lots of female redwings have joined the flock of males. Also lots of female cowbirds are in the flock. A few robin also about, the unusually warm days followed by the heavy snow and sleet has really thrown the birds for a loop-raisins, chopped apples, grapes and oranges might help supplement the robins diets until the snow melts, suet, peanuts and peanut butter provide extra fat and protein for all the birds, in addition to regular bird seed.
