I remember clearly seeing this group (very small about 5 – 10) because we were in the middle of a March snow/sleet/freezing rain storm.
They were hopping around the perimeter our house on the ground, fluffed up, attempting to find anything to eat. Living in a rural area, we typically have nest after nest after nest of robins . . and with our pond we do see red-winged blackbirds, but none so far this “Spring.” (And I use that term loosely.)
