Our 200 tulips have started to emerge. We first noticed them on 3/13/07. They may have been up sooner, but we had a thick cover of snow that just melted that week. Our Journey North Tulip Garden, in which we planted 90 tulips, has 69 tulips that have emerged. We measured our tulips on 3/20/07. There heights varied from 0.8cm to 6.2cm. Our soil is a bit rocky, but my 140 students were excited to see their growth. Our experimental beds suggest the tulip bulbs like to be buried with coffee, eggs, and roast beef as those are the tallest.
