Just before 1030 I flushed a male Rufous Hummingbird off the Daphne odora in my yard in the hills NW of McMinnville. This is one week earlier than last year. Ribes sanguineum is barely open, and lots of tiny insects are flying around. Of course my next move was to put out the feeder.
