Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/22/2007

Number: 1

We see groups of robins everyday now. However, we have about 10 - 12 inches of snow on the ground with a hard icy top. We noticed that the robins were landing on the snow near our school and hopping or sliding towards the school right under the windows. When we investigated, students saw that the snow was melted next to the building from the heat of it. About 2 inches of ground was wet and soft with bright green grass, and the robins were digging up worms. Smart little birds!!
