My first sighting of a loon this spring was today at 1pm. The sighting is on Monona Bay of Lake Monona which fully thawed overnight Fri 3/23. Other areas in Madison WI lakes still have large areas of ice but it is melting fast. Temperture at 2pm 60 degrees F.
