It has begun. I was about to phone my contact in New York State to see what's going on with the Greater Snow Geese but it wasn't necessary. At 1:30 I began to see small flocks of 150-300, with a
few larger ones of 400 or so. They were moving east along the 401 towards Quebec. I'm up to about 1,500 with tens of thousands to come in the next few days. Traditional locations to check for birds on the ground are east of Lancaster along the river as well as along county roads north of that location. Some flocks
will move north to Riceville, Alfred, Calsbad Springs and points in between.
