Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/24/2007

Number: 1

This weekend brought robins (groups) to our area of north central Minnesota. Red-wing blackbirds are on the cattails and I heard my first mourning dove last evening. I also saw my first pair of wood ducks 60 miles south of Park Rapids. My wood duck boxes are cleaned out and the internal cameras will go in a couple of them soon.

I'll be retiring from the classroom this spring, but will be continuing with my efforts and commitment to bring kids and nature together in a variety of ways. Journey North will always be mentioned to others in my travels and my nature presentations. Thanks for all your work.
