Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/30/2007

Number: 1

One of my students saw a lone female monarch sailing over our playground on Friday. Later in the afternoon, I watched her lay eggs on our newly sprouted milkweed plants. Our sprouts are covered with eggs! She was worn, missing scales, but was not tagged. This was the first adult monarch we have seen this spring.
