Spotted two adult monarchs along Highway 10 southeast of Perryville, Arkansas near the western tip of Lake Maumelle.

Butterflies were low and traveling Easternly along the highway right-of-way. Unfortunately, I hit one of the two with my van. Sorry. With traffic behind and oncoming, I had no where to go. Would have loved to swerved instead. Saw the butterfly go down to the roadbed in my side mirror.

Very windy day, but clear and full sun. Lots of other butterflies were active, particularly swallowtails.
