Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 04/05/2007

Number: 1

I was outside going to our porch when a Rufous Hummingbird flew direclty to where I had a feeder last year. Seeing me come and no feeder ( I had a thistle sock feeder instead ) the bird darted off, it happened so fast that I was unsure if it was male or female, but it was that beautiful reddish brownish tint color all over its body. I was going to put a feeder out all this week, it will be up this week. We are up the 410 hiway about 23 miles west of naches, wash. We are 1 mile from Clifdel by whistling jacks. I knew they would be here this week by watching your map. Thanks for what you do mark
PS AFTER PUTTING THE FEEDER UP I FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS A MALE RUFOUS
